March 5th 1965 – Release of Mannish Boys, ‘I Pity the Fool’
On March 1965 ‘I Pity the Fool’ by the Mannish Boys was released. The record has on it a young singer called Davy Jones (later David Bowie) and a session guitar player, Jimmy Page! It was produced by Shal Talmy, who had major successes with the Who and the Kinks. It was released on the Parlophone record label, that included the Beatles.
It failed to chart.
